Dr Thomas is a Lecturer in Bionanotechnology and Biochemical Engineering at University College London. Dr Thomas graduated with an MSci in chemistry and a PhD in the physics of nanoparticle-liquid crystal composites at the University of Bristol under the supervision of Prof. Robert Richardson and Prof. Stephen Mann FRS. Following this he worked as a post-doctoral research associate in the group of Prof. Molly Stevens FRS at Imperial College London developing and characterising new nano materials, sensing systems, and ultra-sensitive low-cost diagnostics. His current research focusses on the evolution of nanoparticle and assay design to empower diagnostics for disease detection and biochemical process analytics.
